Get started with 3D on Shopify
This guide will describe how to get started with 3D products on Shopify.
It will also explain how you can offer a 3D customization experience to your customers.
Let’s get started
To offer a 3D product experience on your Shopify store, the first thing you need is a 3D model.
What is a 3D model?
A 3D model is a three-dimensional digital representation of a real life object.
On your e-commerce store, it will allow you to offer an interactive experience to your customers; they will be able to inspect your product from any angle with photorealistic details.
This will allow them to fully engage with your products, which will definitely boost your conversion rate.

Upload your 3D model to Shopify
Once you have your 3D model (in GLB format), we now will need to upload it to Shopify.
In Shopify Admin, go to your product, then in the Media section click “Add file”.
Select your GLB file and you are good to go. (Note that your GLB file size should not exceed 15MB).
Display your 3D model on your Shopify store
Now that your 3D model has been uploaded to Shopify, we now need to display it to your customers.
Here are 2 ways to do so:
1. Display a basic 3D product experience
This option allows you to display your 3D model on the product page
If your theme already supports 3D models, go to your product page, and your 3D model should be visible.
If your theme does not yet support 3D models, you will need to update your theme.
You can follow the Adding Media to themes to update your theme so it can support and display your 3D model.
(Note that This is an advanced tutorial and is not supported by Shopify).
2. Display an enhanced 3D product experience (3D Configurator)
This option allows you to display your 3D model on any page, and offers advanced 3D product configurations. We will now demonstrate the Angle 3D Configurator app features.
